Nécrologie de Theresa Sigouin (née Levesque)
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Theresa, on Holy Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife to Douglas Sigouin for the past 68 years. Loving mother of her three children, Joanne Prud’Homme (Denis Prud’Homme), Dwight Sigouin (Linda Sunderland) and Christine Sigouin (Robert Cumming). Cherished grandmother of Jessica Szelid (Andy Szelid), Melissa Sigouin (Jeff Dubois) and Julie Fondonella (Danny Fondonella) and dear great-grandmother of Jakob, Cameron, Preston, Cole, Bodhi and Grace whom she loved very much.
Predeceased by her parents Leo Levesque and Corinne Levesque (nee Patenaude), her sister Marie-Claude, her brothers, Gerry, Jean-Paul, Gilles and Marc.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Robert (late Therese Levesque), Claude (late Carol Levesque), Denis (Monique Levesque), Frances (Claude Lamarche), Nicole (Jacques Lalonde), Suzanne (Rick Charland), Serge (Trish Levesque), Helen (Rick Wittenburg) and her sister-in-law, Arlene Levesque (Gerry Levesque).
Born in Embrun, Ontario, Theresa worked in the Audit Branch of the Public Service Commission where she retired in 1991.
Theresa dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, grand mother and great grand-mother. She was a passionate gardener and a culinary expert. Although she suffered in pain for the past several years, she always filled her home with warmth and kindness and would love to reminisce about her family with her husband by her side.
Theresa will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and cherished lifelong friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Lise Beaubien who was her family medicine physician for many years, Dr. Natalia Crosby, the Bytown Palliative Medicine Group for their compassion throughout her end-of-life care, all the nurses from Bayshore Healthcare and Carefor Health & Community Services. A special thank you to Jamila of Saint Elizabeth Health who was her personal caregiver for the past several years.
Invited family and friends are asked to gather at St-Jacques Church in Embrun on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service which will begin at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada or to the Cancer Centre of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
