HANNAH, Keith Elwood Veteran WWII – Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps Peacefully surrounded by family, at Russel Meadows Retirement Community on Friday, June 25th, 2021 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Simone Hannah (née Prégent). Loving father of Suzanne Cloutier (Roland), Jocelyne Cloutier (Germain), Lise Lepage (Roger), Lola Johnson (Dave), Norman Hannah (Kim), Anne Marie Nickason (Rodney) and Mark Hannah (Angie). Proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Keith will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his sister Sandra Andrechek (late Teddy), his sister-in-law Jeannette Vanier, his many nieces and nephews, and by his friends and comrades at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #70 - Iroquois Falls. Along with his beloved Simone, Keith was predeceased by his infant son Peter, his parents Albert and Mary (née Ranger) Hannah and by his sisters Marion Dunn (late Ed), Genevieve Cardinal (late Carl) and Gail Bukowski (Ed). Due to COVID 19 restrictions, Keith’s Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Our father was a man who gave of himself to others, throughout his 96 years. At 17, he received his military training in Camp Borden, then was shipped out to England, where he served in the medical corps, until the end of WW2. After returning home, he worked at Anson General Hospital, in Iroquois Falls, as both, an X-ray and a Lab Tech, for 40 years. He was a devoted family man, whose love for our mother, and his entire family were his priority in life. He loved to curl, loved to visit his sister in the Ottawa Valley every summer, and loved his community. He was a man of faith, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served on committees within the Ste Anne’s Parish, in Iroquois Falls. The Legion BRANCH 70 was of great importance to him, and he served as member, and also as president. He returned to Europe many times, for different events, and to honor those he had served with, and to honor the fallen. Long after our mother’s passing, he entered Russell Meadows Community Residence, where he began a new life, where new friendships were formed, where he gained a sense of family with residents and staff, and where he found happiness again. Our father was our patriarch. He was a gentle man, as he was a gentleman. He touched every person that he met, with his wit, his caring, his love of life, his devotion to his family, and his love of ALL people. He truly made the best of his 96 years and will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Fly high father…you are home again with Mom-the love of your life… You walked the path of life, with dignity, and you spread joy, and laughter, and a sense of well-being along the way, and we have always been so proud to be your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren R.I.P… Memorial donations to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #70 Poppy Fund, 185 Devonshire Ave., Iroquois Falls, ON, P0K 1E0 or The Russell Meadows “Share your Dream Fund” c/o Duncanville Russell Resident Council, 475 Church St., Russell, ON K4R 0A9 would be appreciated by the family.
