Nécrologie de Daniel John Anthony VanDoorn

Daniel VanDoorn expired on the first morning of October, comfortably, at home, wrapped in the loving embrace of his longtime goddess, Sandra Bellina. Danny’s philosophy, “Always play to win,” remained radiant in him until the end, living each day to the fullest.

Danny was born in Granby, Quebec to Lea Rivard and Qries VanDoorn. He is cherished by his siblings Bonita, Sandra and Stefan VanDoorn and all those whom he treasured as family.

His devotion to his work with the Ottawa Catholic School Board, most notoriously at St. Patrick High School, was evident to all those entrusted to his care.

Very special thanks to Dr. Menon for her dedication to Danny’s well-being. And to his primary nurse, Taylor, his “wizard”, thank you is not sufficient for the dignity, respect and excellent care given to Danny.

Daniel’s Celebration of Life will be held at Laurent Hill Funeral Home in Embrun, on October 14, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eulogies and Tributes will begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Catholic Education Foundation, www.cefo.org, dedicated to alleviating the effects of poverty on students in schools, are welcome.
